Admissions




When applying for admission, candidates should enclose a high school graduate diploma
(foreign students require the equivalent issued by
the Croatian Ministry of Education and Sport) and a curriculum vitae.
Foreign students are required to produce a certificate of proficiency in Croatian.


Additionally, a portfolio should be enclosed containing a combination of 30 drawings and paintings for the candidates applying to
the Departments of Painting, Printmaking or
Art Education.
Candidates applying to the Department of Sculpture should also enclose 3 to 5 pieces of plastic art.


The Entrance Examination

The portfolio submitted with the entrance application serves as the first part of the entrance examination. Only the candidates whose portfolios are accepted are entitled to take the second part of the entrance examination. This is a practical exam and differs between departments.


Candidates applying to the Departments of Painting and Graphic Arts are required to draw a portrait, nude, perspective and composition, and to write an essay on a topic drawn from the general and visual culture.

Candidates applying to the Department of Sculpture model a head in clay, draw a nude, perspective, composition and write an essay on a topic drawn from the general and visual culture.

Art Education candidates draw a portrait, nude, perspective, and composition. In addition they take both written and oral art history exam, including history of art, art theory and interpretation of works of art.
